We come as a family for 4 (2 adults, 2 children - 6 & 3 respectively) and stayed in sea view room for 2 nights which they put us at level 4 with a very nice view of the sea. The check in process was fast and straightforward. During my stay, they had this to purchase hotel credit at 15% discount which you can use for any spending in the hotel (except for in room dining if I am not mistaken) which I recommend for guests to take as you will definitely spend (I will get to this point). The resort is definitely feels very private being very secluded from the hustle and bustle of more famous beaches such as Cenang. It is really peaceful as you stroll along the beach and just have a good time with your family. Unfortunately because of covid19, the kids club was closed and maybe because they are running at super low occupancy, some of the kids activities were also cancelled. But my kids were having a great time with the resident marine biologist, Ms Daia as she hosted activities such coral snorkelling, fish-feeding and short session on marine life at her office. She’s really knowledgeable and have great personality which connects well with the kids. On dining, you are unlikely to drive out for lunch and dinner so having that hotel credits is a good option to have some savings (if promo is available) . Prices are expectedly quiet steep but understandably as this is the only option. However the food are really nice and kudos to the chef. Just I wish for more variety for the food selection in all types of cuisine - malay, western, oriental. We also had the opportunity to try the spa. It is a short buggy drive from the lobby and the setup is amazing. Imagine having a relaxing massage facing the sea from the spa at the cliff (you’ll get the idea). You can use the hotel credit for spa and dining so if you take the promo you can have some savings. Overall we had a wonderful time here. We hope the situation will get better so they can host more people soon. Special mention to Daia (resident marine biologist), Shila, Siti Balqis and Aliya from restaurant for their warm hospitality. Its the Movement Control and we decided to take a private retreat during the Recovery period. The criteria of our visit has to be the cleanliness and not too crowded a place, which The Andaman delivers during this trying period. The Andaman is now under the Marriot umbrella, and the current team has done a good job maintaining the splendour of this property. From the moment we entered the boom gates, the security already has details of guests staying and checking in. Quite reassuring that the hotel has contained this interaction within its guests. The check in was efficient, after the mandatory scans and temperature check. The smell of the elevator certainly suggests that sanitising cleaning is taking place often. The room was gorgeous - we took the one with the private pool right at the end of the beach. A bit of a walk - but worth every step - having your own privacy. The ice bucket I ordered at check in was already delivered. Handy to have a scotch ready. The kids adored the pool, and the wind from the beach was as natural as it can get. So divine. As we were to soaked up in the pool and the scotch, we decided to have an in room dining, and we were not disappointed. The food was good and hot (from the food heater tray). Beds were comfortable but I felt it would have been perfect had they dimmed the lights entering the room through the bath area. That could be a design issue. And while at that, it would be befitting for a Luxury Collection to have better thrones. The ones they had, while fine as it is, gives me the impression there were for teens (not that I have a huge rear). Breakfast was good - not buffet - but individually ordered. The private dinner we planned at the beach did not quite happen due to the weather, but we felt that having sampled an in room dining, the private dinner could have been better managed. The presentation was so-so and for the price that was tagged to the dishes, a tad too high. Having said that, the desserts were simply amazing ... from one who don't normally eat dessert. I was impressed with the coral-rejuvenation project - and though each room is charged RM6 a night for the coral rehab project, I felt it should be mentioned upfront and guests given a choice whether to pay or not to pay. For one who appreciates their effort, I am certainly in favour of guests being more aware that RM6 is certainly not enough to maintain or sustain this project, but with a bit of education, guests may more more than happy to pay more (individually). On the whole, we loved returning to The Andaman after a long absence. And we go look forward to our return. Read less

We took sea view room where you get to wake up to the sound of waves & you get the best view at the same time. Beach is very clean. Water may not be as 'blue' as Redang or other islands on that part but when you have a fine clean beach & excellent service, it just doesn't matter anymore. We had the opportunity to visit their coral nursery, it's complimentary for guests. Our kids enjoyed it very much! Breakfast spread was good. The pool comes with slides. Everything was good & kids were sad when we checked out. This is truly a place to unwind and relax. We are already planning our next visit to Andaman. Thank you again for the excellent service. We'll see you again! Read less

He then led us to our room and gave more details on it. • Azizi and Shila for their great service at the restaurant • Suder, the manager of food and beverage for the organization of the romantic dinner. Due to the weather condition we agreed on different plans and Suder bring me to the different places where this dinner could be set. During the next day and despite being in holidays he continued to follow up with me by text message. • Aliya for her kindness and attention to customers’ needs, but also Izwan and Raj during our breakfast • Zhul for his nice conversation and his special Adaman omelet • Akhmal and Arif for making the romantic dinner exceptional • Prem, the master of the Black Mamba • Helda and Chock Choi that we had the chance to meet few hours before leaving • The concierge who arranged our way back to Cenang We probably forget many staffs but we have been truly impressed by all the team service and attitude (including people at the luggage, pool, cleaners, driver…) and tried to write down as many names as we could. They are the ones who will make us come back. We enjoyed also the hotel, the room, the location, the pool and the beach access from the room and the food quality. Read less
