Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre

Whistler, Canada

The hotel

A contemporary boutique hotel, the Pan Pacific offers luxurious all-suite accommodation with picture windows making the most of magnificent views. Centrally located, it is just a short stroll to the gondolas which provide easy access to over 8,000 acres of ski-able terrain including North America’s steepest vertical drop! Village amenities are also on your doorstep with a great selection of bars and restaurants to tempt you. Highly recommended is a trip to sister hotel, the Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside’s Dubh Linn Gate Pub. Built in Ireland, it was transported over to Whistler, piece by piece to provide a cosy evening base with a genuine Celtic atmosphere — tuck into hearty Irish fare and marvel at the impressive list of imported beers — including Guinness of course! Accommodation is very spacious indeed with a fully-equipped kitchen, gas fireplace and flat-screen TV. There’s a complimentary buffet breakfast to get your day off to a great start, an outdoor heated pool to splash about in and massage therapy for tired muscles. If you’re a golf enthusiast, you’re in luck, three championship courses within 2 miles provide a fun alternative to the slopes!

My husband and I just got back from a much needed short vacation . We picked this hotel as we have stayed here before. Checking in was not too bad I didn’t receive an upgrade I understand they were full . The front desk really didn’t describe very well where our room was way in the back corner which we thought was the second floor but really was the lobby floor. Got to our room it was ok looked outside at our view only to see a bunch of bushes in the window no view at all. The breakfast was sub par at best not what I expected Every time I went to the front desk to get something there was a lineup of about 4 people and only one person serving us ..really I don’t want to waste 30 minutes of my day trying to book pool time. All in all I probably won’t stay here ever again Read less

We haven’t stay in Pan Pacific Whistler Village since the valet parking attendant crashed our car a couple years ago and we had a hard time dealing with the parking company and ICBC. After a couple years after the pandemic, we thought they will treasure our business from local BC residence, so we give then another try and booked a big room for our family trip. We understand it is pandemic time and we did not expect a lot of service. But I never had such a bad front desk check-in experience in my life (we are frequent travellers). We checked-in early at 2:30pm on the day of our arrival, but the room was not ready. They promised to call when it is ready but it never happened. Usually hotel will still check guests in and give room key cards even the room is not ready, so they can go directly to the room when it is ready. But here at Pan Pacific, they asked us to go back and do the other half of the check-in process when the room is ready. (Phoebe did the first check-in for us, she was ok and friendly) After walking around the village and waited for phone call (not happened at all and it was not busy at all; it was a Thursday), we went back to the hotel at 4pm. When we went back, we saw my dad at the check-in counter. Lucy asked my dad for an ID and credit card for the booking under my name and kept telling my dad my credit card got declined. When I arrive I showed her the confirmation from my credit card company which I paid IN FULL at the first check-in with Pheobe. Lucy then insisted that it was the deposit for the first night and she forced me to swipe my credit card again. I feel very uncomfortable about that. I closely monitored with my credit card company; they only charged me once when I check-in with Pheobe. Then I mention about we have to check-out early due to a pre-arranged activity. We asked about the breakfast arrangement for the day we leave (the earliest breakfast delivery is 8am). Lucy was kind of telling us “take it or leave it” and they don’t care. I understand it is pandemic time, it is reasonable to book ahead for everything. Lucy told us we have to book ahead to use the pool, but her tone was very discouraging. She basically was telling us that don’t bother her to book to use the pool; better not to use it! A couple day before we arrived, we tried to book for a table at the Raven since we have a group of 6. We sent email but we didn’t get a reply till the booking time (we booked for 6pm; they replied our email right at 6pm). We finally decided to order room service and it connected back to Front Desk to Lucy again. She said all the room service are provided by Earl’s, the restaurant next door, she asked me to go online to find the phone number to call to order take out myself. She didn’t even bother to give me Earl’s phone number. After that, we never call the front desk again as we know that they are not willing to help at all. For us, travellers, front desk is the first impression of a hotel. We also relied on front desk to provide us important information. We do not think Lucy did her job and we probably will not go back and stay at Pan Pacific Whistler Village! Read less

Our latest stay at the Pan Pacific was the Village Centre location. Upon arrival, the staff were extremely courteous and helpful which was very nice to see during this particularly difficult time. I should also mention, the staff, over the phone at this location (Charlie in particular) were extremely accommodating. With the crazy weather we have been experiencing I was assisted with moving dates to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The staff are always friendly and helpful – Keep up the fantastic work! This type of service is so difficult to come across in this day and age. Upon my arrival, it was nice to see all the staff wearing protective masks as a respect to their guests. Everything with the Pan Pacific Village Centre was with safety first for the guests. This included notices in the elevator explaining about maximum guests allowed to the cleanliness and cleaning routines they are following. I am fairly picky and everything measured up to my expectations and beyond. Read less

At the base of the mountain, steps away from both gondolas, the PanPacific is an ideal destination to enjoy the Whistler Blackcomb ski resort. Great welcome from an attentive reception staff and the Bell persons, sets the mood nicely for the next few nights in this winter wonderland. We were given notice by reception of hot chocolate available on the outdoor pool and hot tub area, whilst enjoying the Sunday night fireworks and snow aerials show. More a town than a village, with shops, pubs and restaurants for all tastes. There were art galleries and a cinema complex for some quiet and noisy times. The actual gondola up to both mountains was fun to go on and the conditions were superb for our ski turns. The top of Whistler and the food area and rest rooms were a surprise and so happy they were of a high standard, essentially you stay up there all day long. We were very impressed with Apres Ski scene and it was great for all ages to mingle and have fun with music and dancing. The Pan Pacific was our go to after each day, with a ground floor ski locker storage area that was maintained by staff. The Irish pub and speciality shops within the hotel complex made it easy to decide on what to do that day. Room service was wonderful and almost non intrusive and the aforementioned outdoor hot tub and pool area was utilised after a hard days skiing. Location, location, the Pan Pacific has the location, to initiate your Whistler experience. Read less
