The best all inclusive we have ever done. Perfect for families - lots and lots to do. The food is good. The drinks and service are good - not great - but good. The property is in great condition. The only really cons are - the steakhouse is not very good & the selling of the timeshare is very annoying. Its expensive but it is great.

We, as always, had a great time at The Grand. The boys at the golf course work hard to assure that all goes smoothly. They had their work cut out with all the water they were still dealing with the past hurricanes. Shout-out to Ricardo, Luis, Angel, Carlos, Adrian and Rodrigo always smiling...top shelf!

Moon Palace (Moon Grand) November 2020 Resort Review. My wife and I just returned from another Relaxing Fantastic Vacation at Palace Resorts. We visited Moon Grand at Moon Palace Resort. Moon Palace has four resorts all wrapped up into one. There is the Moon, Grand, Nizuc, Sunrise and the Golf. All are located in the same secured resort located south of Cancun Airport. Due to COVID 19 the resort is taking every precaution possible to maintain the safety of their guest. Not only have they had to close their resorts this summer due to COVID, they also had to weather 2 hurricanes in Cancun! Due to these factors, Nizuc was closed and they were conducting quite a few repairs on Sunrise side. Moon Grand had minimal damage, mostly the plants and coconut trees. Other than that they are back to normal providing a Wonderful Vacation. This is a five star resort and it shows. There are no hidden surprises, It Is All Inclusive! The only expenses you will have is if you want to go on excursions that are not a part of the included resort excursions. You have $1,500.00 of resort money that you can spend at the spa, golf and certain items at the gift store. You will pay a 16% Tax on the free $1,500 of resort money you receive if you spend the money. First and foremost the staff at Palace Resorts is by far the most enjoyable and friendly we have met on any of our vacations. Every time we go back they treat us like family, because we are. Our vacation starts out by notifying our concierge about our plans for the week. Before our arrival our week is already planned out and set in motion by our diamond concierge. When it comes to the food and accommodations Palace Resorts are definitely 5 Star. It doesn’t matter if you are having breakfast, lunch or dinner you can always find something different and it is always spectacular to eat along with the great serving staff. The chefs will always go out of their way to accommodate. The attention to detail is amazing along with the amazing food! All of the restaurants are fantastic! We enjoyed Mexican, Lebanese, French & American, & Caribbean fare this week. Without a doubt, these are all Five Star restaurants! Your choices for dinner are endless. The pools at moon are spectacular along with the wait and entertainment staff! You can usually find a quiet place or a more robust area with lots of fun activities going on throughout the entire day. Drinks and food are always at your fingertips at the pool areas along with the great service from the staff. The adults only pool is very nice if you do not want to be around children all day. Moon Palace is a private resort with no other resorts even close to it which makes your walks along the beach quiet, peaceful and safe. They do have areas for beach volleyball, watersports such as sailing, canoes, etc. If you are more of an ocean person and want to hang out in the ocean all day than I would recommend staying at other Palace Resorts like Beach, Sun, Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Playacar, etc. You can grab a cab and visit Beach Palace & Playacar so you can enjoy a day at these resorts while still staying at Moon. I highly recommend doing this so you can see what the other resorts in the area are like. If you have children of any age, this is the place for them. There are activities for all ages whether it is raining or not and they will never be bored or ever go hungry! Check out the website and it goes into more detail as to what is available. The spa service is always very enjoyable. Their attention to detail is awesome. The $1500 resort credit will go a long way to having a very relaxing time. There are two spas, one at the Golf resort and the other at the Grand Moon. The following is a shout out to the following staff that made our trip so memorable and special at the Moon Palace Resort and Spa. These are the people that will make fond memories for you and your family. First and foremost to our foster daughter, Ariana Vicino Cozar. Ariana, Thank You for the flowers’, wine and chocolates! AS ALWAYS, THANK YOU Ariana!! We are soooooo Proud of our Palace Name Tags! Natalia has been our concierge and we really appreciated everything you did for us. Thank you for setting up all our wonderful dinners especially the special dinner on Thursday, Thank You! We are sorry that we were a bit late. The butlers for our room were Enrique and David. Thank You, it was a pleasure being able to meet the both of you and we enjoyed our daily conversations. To our airport driver Carlos, Thank You! There is the hard working wait staff at the pools who go out their way to make you feel at home at the Moon Grand Pools. A Big Thank You goes out to the following pool concierge’s, Israel (Manager) Luis (Unique Pool), and Ever (Diamond pool). Two of our servers Luis & Melissa. We were able to also experience a wonderful wine and food paring with a very small group. Thank You Alejandro & Jose (Sommelier) and Romone our server for squeezing us in! It was an amazing experience. We also experience a wonderful tequila and food paring with a very small group. Thank You Alejandro (Sommelier). To the following staff that made our dining experiences very special and enjoyable. Celilto Lindo, (Mexican) Dinner, Victor Manuel (Server), Thank You! Le Chateau (French) Dinner, Fernando (Server) & Roberto (Sommelier), Thank You! So unfortunate that I have to write this but for the price that they charge then it is imperative to let others know. We visited on a day pass after hearing so many wonderful stories from previous visitors. Upon arriving, we noticed how busy it was in the lobby. Check-in was slow and we finally got our wrist band for the day. The golf carts were pretty full so it took a few tries before we could head to the Adult pool. We arrived for the foam party time and it was shoulder to shoulder in the pool. We moved on to the next pool (Cursoe?) and they closed all of the pool AND bar area due to a kid accident (floater) in the pool. Next, we moved on to Caribeano pool and bar but no service because they had a palapa fire. So we move to the beach and it was a wreck. The furniture looked tired, towels everywhere, and when we asked for a beer, they said no beer. No beer in Mexico?!? We decided it was not worth it to stay since the water was dark brown and not Cancun blue. We decided to try the Waterpark before it closed and we put our valuables in a locker. We came back to the locker and it was broken. It took 30 minutes to get someone to fix it. Then I heard the worker tell the lifeguard that pretty much all the lockers don't work. Not sure why The Grand can't fix this with all the people at the park paying top dollar. So we head to change for dinner and we think Thai will be good. The waiter Josias started off nice but he pushed the Isyaki (wagyu special) for $225 resort credits. We said no and ordered duck instead. We waited 20 minutes and never saw him again. Our food arrived cold and then we saw him bringing out plate after plate to a Diamond member. We pushed all our dishes to the edge of the table and left. Such a bad experience. This is more geared towards kids and they cater to Diamond members by the looks of the great service that they received and we received no service. Read less
