Postcard Inn on the Beach

St Pete Beach, Clearwater and St Pete

The hotel

Hip and most definitely happenin’, Postcard Inn on the Beach remains true to its surfer-cool, 1950 motel roots. U-shaped with an impressive swimming pool and a grove of mature royal palms at its core, it joins a new wave of stylish hotels at affordable, bound-to-please everybody prices! No two rooms are exactly alike, although all have vintage furniture, flat screen TV, high-speed Internet access and murals or a photographic collage of all things surfing-orientated on the wall. Try some regional American fare for dinner at the Stamps Lobby Bar and Restaurant. There’s also a beach bar and snack shack down by the ocean so you can grab a drink and a hot dog whilst soaking up the sun. Downtown St Petersburg is a few minutes away or spend time at the beach, indulging in a variety of water sports, including that all-important surfing!

This hotel does not honor their reservations. After waiting hours, a room was not ready for us. Had to find accommodations elsewhere with out any help help from hotel management. We booked this hotel months in advance for an event being held at the hotel. Totally dissatisfied and will not ever book this hotel again.

I made a reservation two months in advance for a large group event at the hotel. I arrived about 3:00 PM and was told room was not ready. I kept checking for the next two hours only to be told they were overbooked. I had to find a room 20 miles away. I do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. Extremely poor practices.

OK, I just returned from the Post Card Inn aka PCI aka Party Central Incorporated. It is very obvious that people that give this place 5 stars have never been to a 5 star hotel. Four Seasons in Bora-Bora = 5 stars. First thing I noticed when I arrived was the Sherriff's that were present to keep the unruly guests inline. Never a good sign. One night a kid crashed his car into another car and was arrested for DUI. Best part was location. There are many very good restaurants in walking distance and the Gulf Coast is always very nice. Now to PCI - The rooms are a place to shower and sleep. They are dated. They are attempting to remodel. Of course right outside my door every morning at 8am. Thanks for the wake-up call I did not want. The Pool lounge chairs got to be from at least 1980s. One review I read before I went after I booked...my mistake,, said PCI has a MTV 1980s spring break vibe and it does. Nothing wrong with that but the website is very different. You do not want to get a room by the fire pit because people are out there till 2-3AM drinking and loud. Gary the night security guy is very helpful and seems to be the only one actually cares about keeping the place safe. It could have been very easy to get into a fight with some of the guests. Jenna, a pool waitress, was also very nice and quite the hard worker. This place is a 2 star hotel and best they will ever be is 3 stars. I will not return nor would I recommend this place to anyone. There are much nicer places in St. Pete! Maybe if I brought my pups it would have been 5 starts! Read less

Cool bar with music was great during the day & comvenient while at the beach. Rooms were nice enough, and served their purpose, as well were out and about majority of the time. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and convenience store & coffee across the street was great for quick snack runs. Read less
