I want to start by clarifying that I am a long time Marriott Bonvoy member who travels regularly for work and have stayed at numerous JW Marriott properties for both work and family vacations. I want to start by clarifying that I am a long time Marriott Bonvoy member who travels regularly for work and have stayed at numerous JW Marriott properties for both work and family vacations. I'll start with the positives. The food overall was good. The restaurants are more of a "pop-up" concept, but all the food we had was good. The property and the grounds are absolutely beautiful, and definitely worth the visit. Lastly the concierges were both wonderful and extremely helpful! Now for the negatives. To start with, the ice cream shop, Menchies, that is still pictured and advertised on the website is no longer open, so know that going in. The staff overall wasn't overly friendly or helpful, especially at the front desk. Nothing like what we have experienced at previous JW Marriott properties. We rented a beach tiki hut for the day, and when we walked out to it, nothing had been set up or was ready to go for us. I walked over to check in and they sent someone over to set it up, but the table in the hut had trash on it and needed wiped down, and the chairs were dirty even though the employee half attempted to brush them off with their hand when they set it up. This could be such an amazing resort, and primarily it's just the small things that need adjusted with the staff in general. When you advertise as luxury and charge for it, it's the small things that make the difference. The bare minimum or slightly above should not be sufficient. Read less

Overall we had a nice time because the basic things we there - lots of restaurants, (Ario was amazing steak and mac and cheese!) fun arcade, pools for the kids etc. The restaurants are expensive yes, but we knew that going on. However I will say Tesoro was almost more expensive than the steakhouse and so not worth it - the pricing needs to be adjusted there - $50 for an entree is just weird and defies logic. There are many small details that are overlooked that when compounded can really muddy your experience if you want it to. I'm still waiting for my "email bill" I was told I would receive upon checkout last week.... Generally this resort has a problem with making promises they cant keep. My two biggest things: 1- Housekeeping never came unless prompted by the front desk - every single day for 5 days. Why even ask me at the front desk when I check in if I would prefer morning or afternoon cleaning? It was useless and didnt happen. I know this has been a review from many people and the hotel's response is "thank you for the feedback". but clearly nothing has been done about it. 2- The kids fountains at the pool were all but mostly not working. This is labeled as a kid friendly resort, which it is, but if the facilities for kids aren't working, it kind of ruins it. On day one I hoped it was just a temporary thing, but by day 5 it is clear that there is no intention on making these fountains work. My son had a blast, but it just irked me every day that I'm paying $800 a night for broken facilities. If the hotel could clean up their act and make the things that are broken work, actually have housekeeping that you dont need to chase, and follow through, it could be great. I was super concerned for the reviews saying it was impossible to get a pool chair, but that was not our experience. We always found a chair no matter the time, so it seems that problem is mainly around Spring Break time. If you are looking to avoid crowds, we noticed the resort really cleared out mid-week. I hope they actually apply this feedback instead of just responding to appease Read less

The sand feels cool on your feet and soft like flour. The resort itself is beautiful with a Hawaiian feel. The food in every restaurant is delicious, Kay at Maia is the absolute sweetest. 10K Alley is a a lot of fun kids and adults; lots of games, food, and drinks. The Hawaiian Fire Spinner was incredible. Guests are provided two beach chairs and an umbrella. There are three great pools; one exclusive for adult guests of Sirene, and two family pools (one with a slide for kids). There is an additional charge for ‘reserved’ chairs in the front row around the pool. There is valet parking in addition to self parking across the street (for an additional fee). Read less
