I made a reservation through Booking.com. I had until April 10th 1159 pm to cancel for free in case I changed my mind. Well, after reading the reviews and knowing the food is expensive and they charge extra for parking, wifi, security, hotel fee, and amenities that are not even working due to Covid, I booked at a different place where the hotel fee includes everything mentioned above. I cancelled on April 9th at 0728 am. And guess what? The hotel charged my card without any notice for $154 on the 10th as a preliminary charge, and the transaction was closed on the 12th, and I called and was told that it was a late cancellation fee. Really? Now the collectors department from Marriot has to analyze and decide about my case and I had to send evidence of the email I received from Booking.com about the policies on cancelation. I find that so ridiculous. Let's see what follows. Be aware travelers! And I sent 2 emails and the hotel didn't respond. ☹👎 Read less

I don't think I can convey how terribly disappointed I was in this hotel stay. I booked this hotel because of it's proximity to SeaWorld and because it had a toddler's pool area. I knew about the parking fee ($28.00 a day for self park) and resort fee ($30.00 per day, for what I'm not sure), so that was not an issue. I expect that in high end… Read more
I don't think I can convey how terribly disappointed I was in this hotel stay. I booked this hotel because of it's proximity to SeaWorld and because it had a toddler's pool area. I knew about the parking fee ($28.00 a day for self park) and resort fee ($30.00 per day, for what I'm not sure), so that was not an issue. I expect that in high end resort hotels. I also expect high end resort hotel service. The hotel is massive, but it is tired. There have not been any updates in some time and this is obvious. The kids pool area is very nice for the kids, but it is only open 10-7 and when we are on vacation, we like to be up and out early and sometimes come back to the pool after dinner so this was disappointing. Our room was supposed to be the upgraded SeaWorld View or Pool View room. I'm providing a picture of our actual view. At night , the lights made it better, but quite frankly, we did not look out the window much. The room was large, but also very tired. The carpets were badly stained, the furniture very dated. Due to Covid, there is no daily maid service, so your trash is never emptied, towels are not changed, etc. They will bring you towels if you call. There is no room service, no valet, no bellman to be seen (though I did see one about a day into our trip, just not when we looked for one). I've included the picture of the desk chair, this is what should be in a 4/5star hotel? Clearly, no one inspects the rooms for quality or repair/replacement of furniture. The waitstaff was lovely. Particularly Daisy in the restaurant and the bartenders at the pool bar. They have placed their best people in the venues where the hotel will make more money. The front desk staff was cold and impersonal, not particularly friendly and clearly appeared frazzled. I have the app, I had pre-registered and checked in, yet I still had to go to the desk to verify all my information again, to get an electronic key etc. So why have the app.? The biggest disappointment I had was on Saturday. We came to Orlando to visit my adult son, who lives there. We decided to meet on Saturday and have lunch at the pool. When we went down to the pool, we were given wristbands like a theme park, this was the first time this happened during our stay. There was a guard at the gate. I was told only registered guests could have a wrist band. I went out to the front desk and asked if I could pay for a pool pass, I was bluntly told no. We eventually, got a pass when our other friends who were staying at the hotel with us did not use theirs, but my goodness, this is certainly not the service I was paying for. We spent the day at the pool and my four year old needed to use the restroom. I took her into the restroom by the pool and it was so horribly filthy, I walked her all the way back to our room to let her use that bathroom. This restroom was disgusting, there was no attendant, no one there cleaning it. There was a lady changing the trash can liner outside and I told her how horrible it was and she just said ok. I texted the front desk via the app... never heard a thing. While there, I saw, three guards come around checking the locks on the exit gates to the pool. Maybe they should have used one of those people to clean the pool bathrooms. This hotel has a lot of issues that they are attributing to Covid. While their problems may be a result of Covid, because they don't have the staff, they have done nothing to mitigate the damage tto the quality of the service, by accommodating their guests in other ways. They are still charging a resort fee and providing none of the services, they are still charging a parking fee to park your own car at the hotel where you are paying to stay. Sadly, the Marriott Bonvoy brand has lost my business. I will stick with another high end brand, whose service is still top notch, and respects the quality of service their customers are accustomed to. Read less

The water was a little cold for my taste but the kids loved it and I loved the margaritas. Lol. Speaking of which, Doug at the poolside bar was my go to guy for drinks and was outstanding, making us some delicious adult beverages. The salmon dip is absolutely delicious as well! Angeline in the lobby restaurant was great as well. She remembered us from the previous day and how i liked my cheeseburger. My wife had the Salmon one day and salad with chicken ( not the Cesar one) the next. Both very yummy. Room was spacious and VERY CLEAN. The hotel did a really good job keeping the public areas clean. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and polite. From the engineer (sorry I didn’t get his name) who anticipated us exiting towards the pool and pressed the button, opening the door for us as he was passing by, to the housekeepers always saying hello as we passed. We will definitely be back and recommend this hotel! Read less

Overall a great and beautiful hotel inside (needs paintjob on the outside), and would have easily rated 5 stars but they lost it at the check-in stage! I quickly regretted booking here, especially since I brought family (2 other rooms) and I felt more responsible for the poor experience (details below). I went during Spring Break timing, but unfortunately the check-in experience was the worse i've ever experienced in a hotel. I got there at 7pm to a lobby with a huge line that did not seem to be moving. The mobile app didn't seem to let me do immediate check-in, so i made the line. As i'm slowly moving, I see others are simply cutting the line and being attended by the desk because those guests had been waiting for FOUR hours for their rooms. There are 2 staff members behind the desk and they are constantly leaving their zone to help other guests, roll carts with bags, etc., without telling the huge line what is going on! I am not exaggerating when I say i waited 50 minutes to finally get to the check-in desk. Apparently they were not expecting the amount of people booking rooms and the rooms were not ready yet. I manage to get a room and the only thing they did to compensate was offer 2 free drink vouchers (which didn't end up using anyways). The rest of the family arrived at 11pm with last family at midnight. They still didn't have a room for them and told them it will be another two hours. They had their 9 month old with them, and were being told their room will be available at 2am. No communication, no updates to the huge line in the lobby, no apologies...i was surprised i was in a Marriott and was paying over $200/night... full disclosure: After we complained for making the 3rd couple wait until 2am with a baby, they threw in free breakfast for them. As i was the host and planner, i basically spent all my first night in the lobby until 1am-ish. Pros: Having said all this, we loved the rooms, the design of the hotel, the pool, and everything else. Especially the size of the lobby where it has enough room for kids to play and roam around while not annoying others. The walking distance to SeaWorld worked perfect! About 10 minutes and you are at the entrance. Other cons : Starbucks but closes 4pm. Also, restaurant can't handle too much traffic. Not enough tables and no hostess assist...you just have to free-for-all win empty tables or walk up to the bar and take your food elsewhere in the lobby. Bit dated furniture, like office chair (see pic). Summary : If management would have owned up the fact that they did not have enough rooms, communicate to everyone with the situation, and did something to compensate the guests, our experience would have been 100x better and i'd recommend this hotel. But for the price you are paying per night (after parking, resort, taxes, etc.) easily being over $200 per night, you are far better off at another hotel that has a far better process in place for check-in. To give some perspective, I am a Titanium Member with Marriott in my 40’s with a young family looking to enjoy Orlando Amusement parks.  I utilized my Marriott points and suite awards for this stay.    Stayed   2/27/21-3/3/21 for a family trip to Sea World and Aquatica and had a fantastic time at this property.  I think a lot of complaints about this property are more due to Covid protocols than the hotel itself.  This is a huge convention type hotel great for wedding receptions and business meetings I imagine.  Although the property was probably at about 15% capacity or lower during our stay (due to Covid), it is a beautiful and well-appointed hotel.  Here are some highlights:   - Huge heated pool shallow enough for kiddos but deep enough (6') at one end for a good swim.   - Two very large hot tub pools on outside of main pool   - Nicely maintained grounds with stylish poolside furniture   - A water play area with two generously sized water slides for kids or the adventurous adult.   - A huge atrium with a centralized bar, an open air restaurant, a water fall, a breakfast restaurant, Starbucks, etc.   - A chill pool bar/restaurant    - Discounts for Sea World and Aquatica   - A shuttle to the Amusement parks   We got great service and communication from Brittany S. over the better part of a year as we had to cancel our 2020 trip due to Covid.  She helped us secure a huge corner suite looking over Sea World which my boys enjoyed.  She explained that the resort fee included two drink vouchers (approx $15 value), and included shuttle and other amenities.  She explained some services weren't available due to minimized staffing due to Covid, but that was understandable.   Sure, the place would have been even more fun had there been more guests to justify more employees working to have all the amenities and services available, but at 15% occupancy, I can see the business decision to not have restaurants open full time.   To note:   - As a Titanium member I was afforded my and my wife's breakfast comped each morning.  Had a wonderful weekend day breakfast at Tradewinds and was able to get Starbucks breakfast comoed on the week days.   - Sea World amenities used to include a Quick Queue pass but has since been downgraded to include discounts for merchandise and food.   - Parking I understand is $30/day and is most likely necessary for an elongated stay. We Uber'd from MCO and walked to Sea World and Aquatica which was no issue, saving us from paying the parking fee.  However, we did get stir crazy towards the end of the stay and would have enjoyed a car to go out and explore.   - It is a resort property so drinks and food, as expected, are a bit pricier than what you would find at restaurants off the property.   - This is not a very walk-able hotel, meaning that if you are looking to explore you will most likely need a car.  There is a Bonefish restaurant a few blocks away and a 7-Eleven behind the hotel.   All things considered, especially with Covid protocols in place, we found this to be a fantastic property and we received excellent service from the entire staff.  We would recommend this hotel for families that want to enjoy a beautifully heated large pool with easy access to Sea World and Aquatica.  Read less
