First let me tell you about the staff....when entering the hotel, I was greeted by a gentleman in a suit wearing a fedora cap...nice as can be Something about that immediately told me I was in for a pleasant stay. Staying for an extended stay requires the perfect accommodations,...between Veronica at the front desk, and Ryan, the general manager,...I saw about 5 rooms before I saw a PERFECT fit. My room is exceptional! It's truly a home away from home for me In the perfect location for getting around, I am so happy I decided to check this place out. You know me, I'm a fussy traveler, and always expect the best.. Fifty Hotel and suites has exceeded my expectations! Highly recommend. Read less

Our party of three arrived midafternoon for a 4-night stay on a Thursday. The hotel front doors were accessible with your room key to minimize people entering the building – but they did have the doorman to open the door for you as well. We were greeted by Joe and he checked us in quickly. The check-in setup provided the social distancing required, but still provided the opportunity to connect with staff. We were given a quick rundown of local area points of interest – such as a local supermarket, local Starbucks, etc. Even though we are very familiar with the area, this information was great to have as not everything was open during our stay. They had a UV sanitizer on the table for use – which I thought was a great idea. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a suite on the 18th floor – 1801. Our room faced the back of the building, but we were very happy in this suite. The living room, kitchen and small balcony were all extras that we enjoyed – we loved having the extra TV so we didn’t have to argue about what we were going to watch. Our room was nice and cool which made for excellent sleeping conditions. The room had plenty of closets – two in the bedroom, one in the hallway and one in the living room. Hand sanitizer machines were right by the elevator and we used them every time we got on and off the elevator. The one on the 18th floor smelled very nice. This is our second stay here and we just found out there is an ice machine in the building (4th floor!) and we used it every day! Everyone was so nice and made us feel super comfortable while staying here. Housekeeping service was provided daily which was very nice as some hotels have not been offering it. My daughter did say that Saturday night sounded like there was a party in one of the nearby rooms as she heard the door banging shut all night long. When we passed the room early in the morning, it still sounded like the guests were having tons of fun in there. Read less

This review is for the Denihan Hospitality Group of which the Affinia Fifty NYC is part. We have been going to NYC for the past 10+ years and have always stayed in a Denihan Group hotel. Firstly, at the Affinia Dumont sadly when that closed transferring to Shelborne and now at the Affinia Fifty. The hotels are very conveniently situated, there clean and spacious. Recently we had to cancel our up and coming stay due to the coronavirus, and the Affinia Fifty (General Manager Mr Joseph Rauer) refunded us in full within a couple of days, no questions asked. I cannot recommend this hotel and company highly enough Read less

We stayed 2 nights because I was having surgery, so it wasn’t quite our usual vacation. We chose the hotel because of proximity to HSS, and reviews. It exceeded our expectations. This was not a luxury hotel, but it was perfect for our needs. The room was enormous, especially by NYC standards, with a king bed ( very comfortable), a sofa, a large dining area. It had a full (NY), kitchen, recently updated with gas range, stainless refrigerator. The carpet was showing it’s age but that was the only issue. The reason I give it 5 stars was the exceptional staff: They were friendly, helpful beyond belief! They actually came around the block with a wheelchair and helped me back to the hotel! Housekeeping staff was lovely, promptly providing extra pillows and ice. They carefully followed Covid 19 protocols, so no worries there. Our room faced street on a lower floor, so it was noisy one night- there was construction-, but was fine the next night. We live out in the country and are used to absolute silence, but we’re fine. We plan to return, this time when the Pandemic is under control and we can take full advantage of the location and enjoy the city! Read less
