Lotte New York Palace

Midtown, New York

The hotel

Railroad magnate Henry Villard's 19th-century mansions were combined with a sleek tower to create one of the city's best hotels. It's a place where the staff greet you as if they have known you all their lives, and nothing is too much trouble. The location is one of the best in Manhattan, right in the middle of Midtown, but hidden away in a gated courtyard. There's dining options suited to all at the Lotte New York Palace, from luxury brunch to baked goods, whatever you opt for you'll be in for a treat. Enjoy handmade cocktails in one of Manhattan's most popular bars, Trouble's Trust, or relax in 19th century-style surroundings in Rarities - either make for the perfect post-day-in-the-city tipples.

Honestly don't know where to start as it was the most magical time in New York. The entrance was breath taking, especially with all the Christmas decorations adorning the hotel. The front of house staff were nothing short of polite, courteous & welcoming. The room was huge with a beautiful ensuite bathroom. Everything was catered for and the whole stay was home from home. True comfort. The hotel is situated perfectly to explore the city with most tourist spots within a few blocks or a short bus ride away. This was my first time on a plane & my first real holiday in 20 years - everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. On the last day when checking out, one of our suitcases decided to break & John (who had been looking after our bags) went above and beyond to ensure the last few moments of our time in New York were not ruined. He went out back and returned with a suitcase for us to use, completely for free, and after repacking our bags we were given a complimentary glass of champagne before being helped to our taxi. John honestly deserves a massive compliment for his hospitality, kindness & for just being a really nice guy. Can't thank him enough! (There is a blurred picture of John in the photos - top bloke!) You really couldn't pick a better hotel to stay in. Read less

We stayed in the Towers for our summer family vacation taking our kids to NYC for the first time. The one bedroom suite was bigger than many of our NYC friends’ apartments. It has one full and one half bath which is perfect for a family of four. I don’t think you can find a better location in the city and we were thrilled to be within walking distance of so many “must see” places. The history and architecture of the hotel also makes it very special. The Rarities Lounge was a reason to stay all on its own with an impressive collection of rare bourbons and other hard to find spirits. The outdoor patio and bar was really nice for a drink as we got back from sightseeing. We had serious issues with construction noise going on everyday while my husband was trying to work from the room but the management was quick to respond and at least it was during hours most people wouldn’t be in their rooms. We hope to stay again sometime in December as it is the perfect location for seeing the tree at Rockefeller. Read less
