The Edgewater

Seattle, Seattle & Washington State

The hotel

Sitting right on top of Pier 67, this is Seattle's original waterfront hotel and quite the local landmark. It’s always been a quirky and cool spot, since it was built in 1962 — KISS parked their platform boots here and The Beatles once famously fished out of their hotel room window. We don’t recommend that, of course, but you can imagine the playful and chilled vibe that you get at the the Edgewater. Expect quirky, cosy rooms with beautiful views of Elliott Bay, happy hours showcasing amazing house concoctions, and a restaurant serving the freshest organic and local dishes. Take in a bit of live music at the weekend and dine outdoors to make the most of those water views.

Less than 24 hours before our reservation was set to begin, the Edgewater sent us a nondescript blanket email stating the hotel was closed. The email didn't say if our reservation was cancelled. It didn't say whether we were getting a refund. It didn't even offer alternative accommodations. We get it, there's a pandemic and the landscape is constantly shifting. However, notifying us less than 24 hours before our reservation was incredibly unprofessional. To make matters worse, when I called for clarification, I learned that our reservation was cancelled the week prior, but nobody at the hotel bothered to notify us. We booked our room in June. There was ample time for the hotel to let us know that they were even considering closing. We received no apology. No notification that I was even refunded the cost of the room. No nothing. That left my wife and I stranded in Seattle looking for a last minute place to stay. Had we been given adequate notice, we would have easily been able to make alternative arrangements. This level of customer service would be frowned upon at even the worst tier of hospitality accommodations. But for a hotel of this level of alleged service, price, and prestige, this is atrocious. I would avoid the Edgewater. If this is how they treat their guests before you even get to the hotel, imagine what kind of respect they will have for you when it comes to the actual stay. Read less

Since we were in Seattle for a few days, we had the ability to try a few different rooms at this hotel and I can say, they are all great. The suites, we tried to of them, we incredible! The decor or the entire hotel is fantastic and the restaurant (although expensive) is truly great. Friendly staff all around.

Views from the hotel are out across the Puget Sound, a fab vista to enjoy a sundowner. Styled as a luxury 'mountain' lodge, the Edgewater exudes a somewhat 'rustic chic' with oak beams and rafters, a stone fireplace and antler chandeliers in the lobby. Rooms are reminiscent of a ships cabin, though modern and roomy. In house restaurant is called Six-Seven, food is superbly creative, thumbs up there. Staff super professional and friendly - will definitely return. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Beatles suite WAY over-hyped

Because I had seen on TV and read about the Beatles suite, it was a bucket list stay for me. All I can say is its waaaay over-hyped. There aren't even Beatles records in it everything in the room is a reproduction... it's not even the same room anymore it used to be the room next to it as well but now it's a single room. It's a 200$/nt max room,… Read more

Great service, a couple of glitches but they made it right and wonderful rate for a last minute stay in an upscale Seattle hotel. I will probably never be able to afford it again. Wish the restaurant and bar had been open.
